hi all, i have windows xp pro running on:

AMD Duron 1.3Ghz
352MB RAM
32MB S3 Savage Shared Video
40 GB HD
Broadband Connection

ever since i upgraded from windows me after any given
period of time the computer will just totally hang and i
mean no mouse movement screen freezes, ctrl alt del
doesnt work nothing will respond except the big evil
reset button on my main comp. this is irritatin as i
never know when it will happen and cannot find anywhere
else to look for help.

ANY advice would be great.

Cheers Adam

Check the event log to see if anything is showing up also check your
antivirus software sometimes it will try to scan a system file and hang the
system. You can also try one of those burn in programs to see if something
is failing!
You may also want to try disconnecting your broadband connection and see if
it will lock up disconnected!

Do you have a firewall in place?

you need a clean install... if you have both installation disks you
should back up your data, and reinstall XP but this time choose clean
install. if your XP disk is an upgrade your computer will ask you to
put in your ME disk to verify that you own it.
XP and ME do not play well together. All sorts of problems have been
reported. A clean install will solve your problems.
