Hello,

Thought that i was logged onto a local users machine but it turns out i was
sitll in a TS client connection.

Needless to say, i rebooted the main TS server whilst everyone was logged in.
This ofcourse imediatly ended everyones sesion and logged them out, even
though they were still using software.

Consequently, I have rebooted the main server (even going to the stage of
shutting down from the console, leaving it and then turning back on again
after making sure all clients were logged out and switched off) but still it
doesn't work correctly.

When they attempt to log back in it hangs for ages before 'eventually'
displaying the users desktop. However, each time you try and use something,
it is still doing the whole hanging thing and not letting them use it
correctly....

Yes i knnow i've been very dumb and stupid but the fact is that it is done
now and i need help!!

cheers if you can

Hi,

Do you use APC UPS?
If so do you use V6.x of the software?
If so you need to disable the agent service.

Boot into safe mode disable the service and reboot uninstall the software
install V7
This has affected 3 of my servers including 1 TS that no one could logon to.

APC answer ID 7202 has been updated today,

Hope this helps

Dave

we do use APC UPS's but as i am new to the company, I dont know what version.
Will try this firstr thing on monday.

It has been very weired as half the users can get on and the other half
cannot!!

sounds like we may have a winner!!

Cheers m' man (or woman couldn't tell from your username!!)

Definatly is this my friend. Have looked at the server and we are running
version 6.0.2.0 of the APC power chute software.

To compound the issue, some users are logging in on TS Client which then
spawns off an ASP (possibly Java too) web page with a message of the day on
it. This was litterally hanging the users out so that they could not even
finnish their logon. Also to connect to the web, we have to authenticate
using a Java applet that allows us through a firewall. So that wouldn't have
helped either.

Am in the process of downloading the required software now....fingures
crossed that it will work eh!

cheers

can you spot the obveous mistake with this mail....quite clearly you aqre a
