Ok, i have to admit, Vista is incredible, but, it is causing my computer to
run extremely slow and i can't stand it any longer. I know i should have
done my homework before installing vista, but i was way too excited and
didn't exactly read everything. My main focus now is to uninstall the "great
vista" and get xp back. The big problem is that my pc came w/xp
pre-installed so i don't have a xp cd to clean install. Any help
uninstalling vista and getting xp would be extremely appreciated. Thanks for
your help!

You do not uninstall Vista. You format and install XP to the same
partition. In your case, use the restore cds that came with your computer
(or recovery from a hidden partition on the hard drive if that is how the
manufacturer provided the XP recovery software. It would help if you told
us what kind of computer you have.

Have you tried turning off the eye candy and themes? Just like XP you can
drop down to a standard theme, this really does lower the amont of resources
used.
Failing that, if your PC came with XP pre-installed, unless you were sold it
by a cowboy you should have a way to restore the system to a previous state.
This may be a backup cd or a backup partition.

ANOTHER DUMBFUCK WHO DIDN'T READ THE BIG WARNING TELLING YOU YOU CANNOT
ROLL BACK..

Tough shit. Back up what you can and then it is format, reinstall.

unless you actually have the system restore cd then your stuck, vista will
have written over your restore cd if it was on the comp so you wont be able
to get back to xp unless you have the actual disk or else you format your
comp and then re-install xp, i had the same problem but luckely i got the
system restore cd from dell sent to me and now i've got my xp back to the way
it was when i bought it, if you dont have the disk then contact your comp
maker and ask for one,

Not necessarily. It doesn't write over the restore partition, it just
writes over the boot manager component.

For Dell, at least, there is a widely available program that repairs it and
allows a restore to work again.
