School running 30+ Networked PCs with XP Pro SP2.
I can't stop hibernation occurring, even when it's just at the log on
screen. After 20mins the screen blanks out, the next set of kids come in and
think the PCs are switched off, so they hit the power button!!! Poor PCs are
getting hammered!
I've unchecked 'hibernation', changed all the settings to 'never' and
removed screen saving. It happens whether your logged or not and also if your
administrator or a user. There are no viruses and the CPUs not overheating.
This is happening on all different makes and models, the only common factor
is XP Pro.
If you are logged in, then the screen saver stills kicks in after 10mins
even thought it's switched off.
Can this be coming from the Server? (Windows 2000) as I don't have this
problem with any home based PC or Laptop.
Help stop the mindless destruction of these decent hardworking PCs, whose
only goal in life is to serve and educate these horrible little monsters!
