Just recently I have had the problem of Windows XP Pro not shutting down all
the way. It hangs up at "Windows is shutting down". It does the same thing
when I select Restart. I am current on all MS and driver patches and
updates.

Can anyone help me? Thanks

I went there already from a suggestion someone gave enother person that had
a similar problem. Someone else mentioned a new dvidia driver update that
could be causing it - do you have any idea what that was? They said it
could be disabled but I don't know how. Do you? Thanks

Jeani;
Try this:
Clear the Windows Paging File at Shutdown
Note: If this feature is enabled, the shutdown time may be increased.
For Vaue: 1
Make sure this is not enabled.
-----------------------------------
Make sure the Value is 0 not 1. This will speedup your shutdown. It worked for
me. Changed it from about five minutes to maybe a minute.
----------------------------------------
Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
Start/Run/type: regedit /OK
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory
Management
Value Name: ClearPageFileAtShutdown
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0
-------------------------
If you need to change the Value:
Right click:
ClearPageFileAtShutdown
click Modify
Hit Backspace key on keyboard
type 1
click OK
