Hi, I am able to turn off ALL tooltips in office using
tools>customize>etc. this does NOT turn off the pain in the rear end
tool tip that pops up everytime I run the mouse over a link. I am
pretty sure after about 10 years of use i can remember how to navigate
in design view if need be. PLEASE help me get rid of it.

Thank you much KD

delete the tool tip text for every link through the hyperlink dialogue box.
or, in the code delete the "alt" or "title" attributes from your <a href>
tags.

Right click a blank area of the Toolbar.
Click Custom and then in the Customize dialog click the Options tab.
Uncheck "Show ScreentTips on toolbars"
Click Close.

You might have to close and re-open FrontPage for it to take effect.

Hi, Thanks Steve. Yea I've tried that (it's been off for a while),
even done it in every office app I have. They just will not go away.
As for the other reply, the links are bare, no alt, title, target or
anything and the tips still pop up. Now keep in mind I am not talking
about alt tag text that shows up I'm talking about the tool tip that
appears when you hover in design view that should shut off as Steve
suggests.

Is there a reg tweak I can make? An update I might have missed? Am I
really the only one this annoys?

Thanks again

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner.

Run the function that restores the Default Toolbars and menus.
Then retry what I posted earlier.

Hi, thanks again, that's a cool tool but no dice. Tool tips for
everything stop except the ctrl+click tip that shows up over the link.
