Please HELP ME!! Beginner here

Could you please give me step by step instructions on how to create a movie
and then save it and burn it onto a cd-r. I don't have a dvd burner, just a
cd burner. I do have a DVD Player (Phillips DVP642) that plays all types of
files that I would like to watch my movies on. I tried reading past posts on
this, but I am confused. Appreciate any help.
