normal? I've tried changing the admin name and nothing seems to work.

Look in the Documents and Settings folder - your old identity should still
be there.

Unfortunately it's not. I was reading an article that said i should
change the main identity name and give it a password. The old ID was
Dag, now it's Hal. And I can't find anything that was in my original
documents folder. I can't even seem to change the name Hal back to Dag.
Any other ideas?

You may need to log on with an administrative logon, but unless you
specifically deleted the files they should still be there.

Well, I specifically didn't delete the files, so... How can I set it
back to normal?

Not quite sure what you mean by "set it back to normal" ... when you create
a new account it gets its own settings, that's by design. You should be
seeing, inside the "Documents and Settings" folder, a number of other
folders including Default User, All Users, and several with the past and
current logon names you use to log onto that computer.

Yes, I see default user, user, and Hal. Hal used to be named Dag. I
believe I changed it's name thru the users and passwords cpl app. That's
when stuff disappeared. I tried changing Hal back to dag, or
administrator, but nothing is working. Dag was my main identity, could
changing it's name cause my files to be deleted? I'm confounded.
