I installed new motherboard, ram and CPU.. all vista compatible. Now Vista
won't load. I tried to load from DVD to do a repair. All that happens is it
sits at the blue curtian thing after the windows logo bar that says loading.

What do I have to do? Why won't Vista load? Do I have to do a clean
install? IF I have to do a clean install how do I do that...

Please I am frusterated... I am needing some immediate help with this.. I
have been at is for at least 6 hours now...

When you changed the mb that changed everything for Vista. If a repair
wont' work you may have to reinstall.

Ikeyre,

If you want to do a repair install, you have to boot to the Vista DVD, not
the Vista on the hard drive. You set the 1st boot device (CD/DVD-ROM drive)
in BIOS. After booting to the Vista DVD, you then select the proper option
for repair.

Hi,

The repair option just fixes the boot configuration. Ikeyre has changed the
hardware that Vista was installed under and will require a fresh
installation to rebuild the system files to match. Unlike XP, there is no
'repair installation' to (re)install on top of an existing install.

Rick,

I realized that issue later, so I posted the instructions below after my
above comment.
