Can anyone give me some advice about moving a website from one host to
another.
The website is hosted with a company called domainsuperfactory.com, it
has been down for nearly a week now, and I seemingly have no way of
contacting the company as all their emails get bounced back and phone
lines are dead. Is there any way I can change the name servers of this
site without the hosting company's assistance as I can't get any from
them.
If anyone could suggest any solutions I would be most grateful as
would my client who's lack of website is losing him business every day
it's down.

As longs as you are talking merely about DNS (this groups topic) it is
easy.

Make the address changes at the DNS Server (in the zone) for the website
name as soon as you have configured and made the web site available on
the "new" server.

Try to keep the old server functioning until the "TTL" (Time To Live) has
passed for the DNS records.

Maybe it is easy -- maybe not. You have to find WHO is holding the
DNS which may be the same folks or completely different from the web
site itself.

You didn't give us the DNS name of web server and zone so we cannot
check for you.

NSLookup -q=SOA web.yourdomain.com

This will get back the SOA record with the Server which is primary for the
DNS and the "responsible person" field -- change the FIRST "." (DOT) in
the responsible person name to an @ (at) sign to make an email address and
try mailing that email to get help.

Otherwise you may have to find the registrar for your domain (Look for an
online "WhoIs" page or utility) -- from the registrar you can make an
afidavite to take possession of your domain name if the ISP or provider has
gone out of business.

This will be neither quick nor convenient but it can (usually) be done.

WhoIs can find the registrar; NSLookup -SOA can find the DNS server
and email of the current technical contact.

Read inline please.

Contact the registrar of record, and change the DNS servers there. To find
who the registrar of record is you'll need to do a whois lookup, if its a
..aero, .arpa, .biz, .cat, .com, .coop, .edu, .info, .int, .jobs, .mobi,
..museum, .name, .net, .org, .pro, and .travel use
http://www.internic.net/whois.html

If it is a Country code TLD start here:
http://www.uwhois.com/cgi/domains.cgi?User=NoAds
Once you find the registrar of record only owners and administrative
contacts can change the DNS servers. But if the hosting provider is out of
business, you may not be able to retrieve the website to move.
