Hello every body.
Here is my story.
I was using MS-AntiSpyware on my PC (I was very glad of it).
A day, the software proposed me to upgrade to "Windows Defender".
I answered "Yes" : the upgrade failed and stopped ("GDIPlus" version problem).
So I updated the "gdiplus.dll" (MS-AntiSpyware was still running).
Some days later MS-AntiSpyware proposed me to upgrade to "Windows Defender"
again.
I answered "Yes" and the upgrade was successfull.
I restarted my PC and I have now (after each reboot) the following error
message (in a "Windows Defender" popup) :
"Application failed to initialize: 0x80010005. Les appels extérieurs ne sont
pas autorisés depuis un filtre de messages"
When I try to launch "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe", via
the icon in "Programs", I obtain the same message.
The Service "Windows Defender Service" (MsMpEng.exe) seems to correctly run.
For information, my PC is on Windows 2000 Pro SP4 French (with all patches
and KB).
I saw many posts about this problem but no answer by Microsoft.
I'm afraid because MS Anti-Spyware is now uninstalled of my PC and I have
no more Anti-Spyware protection.
Is there a solution to this problem ?
If there's no solution, should I wait for a Microsoft answer about this
problem or should I reinstall MS-AntiSpyware (if it is technically possible
....) ?
Best regards,
Christophe LAMBEY.
