Tarik,

it can be done, but it's not recommendable because all internal
traffic would also go to the DSL modem and possibly even past
it. There are also some other problems, like having to have the
ICS computer running to be able to connect from the other.

My first recommendation is to buy a WAN (or DSL) router, which
is cheap these days. (You could use the SMC 7004 VBR, for
example. Use firmware version 1.23 or higher on it---the older
versions are not so good.)

Here are two ways to connect both computers to the Internet at the
same time using a hub:

1. Get two IP addresses from you DSL provider. Connect the DSL modem
to the hub's uplink port, and connect the computers to the hub's
regular ports.

2. Connect the DSL modem to one of the computers. Add another network
adapter to that computer, connect it to the hub, and connect the other
computer to the hub. Enable Internet Connection Sharing on the first
computer's DSL connection.

Instead of those, I'd recommend a third option, as Hans-Georg Michna
has already mentioned: Get a broadband router, connect the DSL modem
to the router's Internet (WAN) port, and connect the computers to the
router's local area network (LAN) ports. The router will share one IP
address between both computers.
