I used to think that I was reasonably intelligent and
that I could figure most things out. Not this time.
The problem that I am having is that when I am typing a
URL in the ADDRESS Bar whatever letter that I start
typing a whole list of stuff I don't want appears in a
drop down box. For example - when I start typing the
letter w the following appears:
WebCanvas 1.0 Trial.lnk
WebDraw 1.lnk
WindowWasher.lnk
WinZip.lnk
Search for "w"

When I type in the letter "a"
the following appears:
A:\
Acrobat Reader 5.1.lnk
and a whole bunch more stuff.

My question is HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING?
when I start typeing a URL I don't want to see anyting or
have anything happen except a flashing cursor showing me
where the next character will be placed.

Please respond to my e-mail address

Any help will be appreciated and my thanks in advance,
Russ

Tools->Internet Options->Content->Auto Complete (button near bottom)

Uncheck whatever you do not want. Unchecking the 'Web addresses' box
disables the autocomplete feature in the Address box.

Control Panel \ internet options \ connections \ autocomplete
Uncheck web addresses. OK. You might also want to go to the general
tab to clear your history and files.

I've designated my cursor not to flash via the accessibility settings,
but each to his or her own...
