Hello all:
I just upgraded my system to an Athlon 4000+
Asus A8V deluxe
2 120gb SATA drive (non Raid - one running windows XP prp)
2 DVD-ROMS
1 80 gig IDE drive
Verto GForce FX video card

2 Pairs of VS1GBKIT400 (4 VS512MB400s)

I constantly get a message stating "New CPU inserted Into your system"
Press F1 to setup, f2 to load defaults

I have gone in and set up the memory to settings suggested on
askramguy.com:
Cas latency 2.5
TRCD 3T
TRP 3T
TRAS8T
DDR Ref Voltage 2.7

when I reboot the same message appears and the settings are back to
AUTO (it keeps the time and date but also loses other customized
settings such as the SATA disk being the HDD to boot from)! I have
cleared CMOS numerous times - after which I get the bad checksum
error(g in and configure yet again and i am back to 'new cpu
found'...flashed the board with the newest BIOS and when that did not
help I went back to the old BIOS.

I've called Asus 3 times and the last time they said that I need to
call Crucial and get the latency settings and that will fix it. I doubt
this is it but does anyone have any recommended settings? Has anyone
else seen this problem?

I can eventually get into windows. I ran CPU-z and all looks good- also
memtest.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Have you tried setting all these to "Auto" or "By SPD"?

Me too.

Your Memory is not from Crucial but Corsair.

I too upgraded with a A8V deluxe and Athlon 64 3500+ Venice and I too
get the message "New CPU inserted Into your system"

I dont think its the memory, I guess the board or BIOS cannot detect
or save the new CPU. When pressing F2 the BIOS-defaults are loaded, so
everything is set to [AUTO] also the memory-timings.

My "work-around" is to disable "Wait for F1 If Error" in BIOS (section
"Boot"). So the message still appears every boot, but booting is
continued normally with all personal bios-settings I made. System is
stable so far.

Please tell me: does your system run in "dual-channel"-mode? (It
should with your DIMM's)

Did you found anything new concerning that error-message?

Thanks
Peter
