Please HELP!! 1st. post: 3dp fdx 8500LE, CRT used as TV??

This is my first post on this newsgroup.

I just bought a used Hercules 3dprophet fdx 8500le 64mb. It worked fine
before installing catalyst. (like normal card without drivers). It has 1
crt, 1 tv-out svga, and 1 dvi connection.

When I installed catalyst 3.7, reboot, my CRT screen turned to green shade.
All white is now GREEN! I went into Display tab and found that 2 displays
were in use, 1 monitor, and 1 hd-tv!
My screen is now working as Hd-TV, cause i can adjust gamma etc from that
tab. It runs green, at 60hz, 7xx*5xx resolution :(
If i turn off hd-tv and Only chose CRT, screen goes blank with NO-SIGNAL
message.

I tried ancient drivers, pre catalyst ones (from 2001-02) and they worked
fine. But they suck in 3d games and so..

Any help is VERY VERY needed and appreciated.

yep download some gaming drivers to fix a overall display problem....

I would remove all the drivers and begin again by first making sure the card is seated firmly in the slot, and the monitor cable is
in good condition and secured. Boot to safe mode and remove all duplicated hardware or hardware no longer on the system at least
under the vid adapter/monitor heading(s). That is a Radeon and not rage right, I seem to be hallucinating a powered by xx00le series
having a rage chip.
 
It is a Radeon8500LE chip, with SINGLE ramdac 400MHz. I can see everything
fine using non-Catalyst drivers (around 2002 and older), but even catalyst
2.5 has same issues.

I'll try Omega ones soon, and let you know.

Is there any way to Force disable Tv-Out AND yPbYr (or something). Thanks

Just tried omega drivers, NO GO! Same symptoms here again. I still see only
GREEN shaded, low rez, 60hz image.. This happens only using catalysts (all
versions).. ?!

Here is more clear situation:
Fact: I have only CRT monitor (not dcc compatible) connected to Db15. Tv-out
and DVI empty.

BUT: under Ati panel > Displays, there are 4 devices. 1 TV and 1 flat panel,
both greyed out (hence unplugged, true..). 1 active Hd-TV set as primary
(blue o-button pressed), 1 active MONITOR, set as secondary (blue
window-button pressed).

IF: i set active "CRT" as primary, or disable HD_TV, my screen goes dark
with "no signal" message.
If i adjust brightness/contrast on HD-TV tab, my visible display is
affected.

Hence: My display is still treated as HD_TV :(

PLEASE help me.. going crazy soon..

just force 2 display devices max, disable all tv-out, hdtv stuff?
I know it's some settings in "atiixpag.inf" file.. possibly under
[ati2mtag_R200_SoftwareDeviceSettings] maybe, but what, i don't know.


(I have had Ati before, a radeon9000 mobility, on a kick ass note-book. Very
happy, never had problem with Ati, untill now.)

If you want to disable the HDTV output then unplug the cable.
I know it's some settings in "atiixpag.inf" file.. possibly under
[ati2mtag_R200_SoftwareDeviceSettings] maybe, but what, i don't know.

What cable???? Please read my posts, i have only my monitor CRT connected to
DB15. That's the whole issue! I DON'T HAVE ANY HD-TV AT ALL...

I just solved this problem by manually modifying Catalyst 3.10 drivers. Now
I can see everything in normal colors at normal res.
