Irfanview (3.99) does not create panorama image here with me.When I add
a second image the program closes. It does not satisfy me in doing so often.
Is there any other program that combines pictures without problems and
yet is free?
Thanks in advance.

hello dkb,

if a program ends abruptly, then
the problem is usually a flaw with it
or the memory could not handle the
overload and dumped the data.

i no expert with irfanview. however,
if the program is not faulty, then it
might be that your pictures are very
large in size and would take lots of
memory to merge them together.

try resizing the files to something more
manageable or change them to a different
file type before trying again.

also, make sure you cpu is dedicated to
this particular task so you might want
to disable all your startups temporarily.

one more thing, make sure your virtual
memory / pagefile size is set appropriately
as well. Set it to a custom size with a min
of 2 and a max of 1152, then reboot.

if the above doesn't help, then find another
program to make your panorama. I think
i saw a freeware at fileforum.com

Try updating your video driver.

And BTW...IrfanView will combine
images edge to edge but will not
create a continuous panorama.

Here's a free panorama tool but
it's somewhat complicated to use.

I would use Irfanview to combine the scanned parts of a large
document/picture, edge to edge, and without any problems. This was
possible for me here with its older versions.
I am going to use Panorama Perfect Lite. Yes prima facie it seems
complicated.
Thanks for the guidance.

You're welcome.

If you would like to go back to an
older version of IrfanView...have
