I am using Q 2003. Whenever I try to transfer money out of a
'Traditional IRA' account I am asked to input a number between '2002 and
2002'. When I do that it asks me for a number between '2003 and 2003'.
When I do that it asks me again for a number between '2002 and 2000'. I am
unable to get out of this loop. It does this when I use 'Transfer Cash Out
of Account' from the 'Record Transaction' pull down list. It also does it
when I select 'WithdrwX' on the action menu. The only difference is that in
the latter case, there isn't a place specifically shown to make the input.

What is going on? Why is it asking me for this input? How do I transfer
cash out of an IRA account?

Call your bank, Windows XP is not a financial program. You
must mean you are using Quicken, which is not a Microsoft
product (MS Money is).

Hi Dan,

Call your financial institution, as a cash withdrawal from an IRA usually
requires additional paperwork to be filed regarding fed tax withholding and
distribution eligibility. Gotta be 59 in the US to be eligible for a normal
distibution without penalty, plus you must elect whether to have a minimum
of 10% federal withholding done. This can be done from the amount withdrawn,
or calculated so that you can withdraw the intended amount.

I doubt your Quicken software is set up to handle this transaction with your
financial institution, as there are several possible ways it may be done.
