When I play Halo a few minutes the image becomes very slow.
For example when I shoot, I have to dash my mouse 20 times
to get a shot out of it. Does it have something to do with
Windows XP?

My computerconfiguration is P4 2.40 Ghz, 768 Mb DDR PC333,
GeForce FX 5200 128 Mb ram.

Please help, thx

My son has this problem, also, with Halo on Windows XP but not on Windows
98. Having researched the websites connected with this game (Microsoft) and
the forums, it seems that some XP systems have this trouble and some do not.
My son has the same set up as yours but he has the ATI 9700 Pro so the type
of video card may not have anything to do with it. We have tried all the
"fixes" that MS suggested and some on the forums (that sounded reasonable
and not harmful to the system). The only thing that helped was to disable
all the video card tweaks and this only helped slightly. This seems to be
the only game he is having this problem with. Maybe the developer will come
up with a patch.

I'd suggest you go through the Halo support information here:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/halo/support.asp Halo is extremely
graphics-intensive, and not all graphics cards/drivers work properly. You
may need to update the graphics card driver. There is also information on
performance "tweaks" you can do within Halo to make things run smoothly.

We tried all the tweaks and untweaks suggested by MS and the forums and it
didn't help. My son's friend also has this problem with a brand new
hyperthreading 3GHz system, Nvidia 5900FX, updates, tweaks, untweaks, 1gig
memory, etc. and still it slows and stalls. If you come up with anything,
please post, and maybe Scarecrow, my son, and his friend will actually be
able to play this game, heh. Thanks.
