Playing a video clip and animating images at the same time

Does anyone know if it is possible to play a video clip on the bottom half of
a slide while at the same time animating numerous images to fade in on top of
each other every 4 second for the length of the video? Because the video
clip shows up in the animation sequence, my images either will play super
fast (all within a second), if I select "Start with previous" or my images
won't play until after the video clip is done, if I select "Start after
previous". I am using 2003.
