Hi

In PowerPoint, I’m able to play a DVD using an Action Button on a slide.
Windows Media Player pops up. This works well but requires three clicks. One
to invoke the action. One to ‘OK’ a warning. One to ‘Play’ the DVD in Windows
Media Player.

This seems to be a lot of clicking.

The warning message is particularly irritating. It is a Microsoft Office
warning: “ Opening C:\Documents and Settings\...\VIDEO_TS.IFO
Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It
is important to be certain that this is from a trustworthy source. Would you
like to open this file?â€

Is there some way to suppress this warning?

Is there some way to automatically invoke the play button when the action
button is invoked?

The solution to the error message can be found here:

"How to disable hyperlink warning messages in Office 2003"

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829072

It is method one. Basically, the trick is to identify the file associations
for the DVD playing program, and disable "confirm open after download".

Still haven't found a solution to one click playing of the DVD from
PowerPoint.
