Playback of .avi file

Windows Media Player

I have added the Windows Media Player in the XP embedded.
But it is not able to playback the avi files.

It says "the format is not supported".

Please advise.
 
Use GSpot or such on a system that the avi works on to determine what codecs
are required to support the avi. Then make sure those codecs are in the
Windows XP Embedded image. This will provide information on any
non-Microsoft components required to play the avi. Depending on how many of
the "standard" avi support components are installed by the Media Player
option (I haven't used it in XPe), there may be more objects required to
play the avi.
For the full list of objects required to play the avi, install the Directx
sdk on a full XP install and run the avi in GraphEdit then note which
components and their files are required play the avi and get these into and
registered in the XPe image.
