has anybody tried to play a video several slides?

greets from germany

Hi Mark,

what are you trying to accomplish? A video does not behave like an audio
file and continue playing when you change slides.

Normally a video stops as soon as you change the slide. You could insert it
in the master to have it play on more than one slide, but it will start from
the beginning as soon as you switch to the next slide.

One idea: have a look at Chirag Dalal's "Transparent Show"-Add-In:
http://officerone.tripod.com/transshow/transshow.html. With this you could
have your video playing in the background (e.g. in Media Player) and view
your presentation in the foreground.

Kind regards, from Germany too
(you're also welcome to the German PowerPoint Newsgroup)

Yes. Are you having a problem? You'll need to go to Custom Animations an set
it to play for XX slides. How you do that depends on which version of
PowerPoint you have, but you haven't mentioned that.

If you set the video object's multimedia settings to 'continue slideshow'
and 'stop after x slides' it will continue to play over the specified number
of slides. The setting is under Custom Animation - in XP and 2003 it's
under effect options and worded along the lines of 'stop playing after x
slides'.

Thanks, Adam,

obviously that was to deeply hidden there for me to find it yet. But that
way I've learned something, too :-)

Kind regards,
