I would like (in PP97) to display a slide and begin a wav as it comes up;
then, after the wav is completed, start another wav to play (while that
first slide is still visible.)

How can I do that?
TIA
Doug

Go to Custom Animation and on the Timing tab, set each of them to animate
automatically after previous event. In the Animation order box, number 1 will
play first, followed by number 2.

Sonia, I'm doing something wrong. I go to SlideShow/Slide Transition. In
the Sound field I get the first wav file and click on "Loop until next
sound." I then click on Other Sound and get the second one and Loop until
next sound.
I then preview it and the SECOND one begins to play instead of the first
one.

What am I doing wrong?

You can only attach one sound file to a transition. If you want two sound files
to play on the same slide, go to Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from File
and insert the first sound file. You'll see a sound icon on the slide. Move it
off center some place. Repeat to insert the second sound file. Then set up the
Custom Animation settings I described. You can drag the sound icons off the
slide so that they don't show up on the slide when you run the presentation.

Thanks Sonia, that worked great!
