In the 97 version of PowerPoint Viewer, you could create
a text file of presentations to be displayed, and save it
as a .lst file.

I have read MS Knowledge Base Article 830040, but cannot
get the switch /l to work. Is this switch only available
if you create it on a CD?

I tried running it from the "Run" line at start, creating
a shortcut, and each time, it failed.

I want the same opportunity I had in 97 to run several
presentations one-after-the-other, and to be able to
change it on the fly with only writing the name of the
presentations in the text file.

Is this possible?

Glenn,

Luckily for you, Sonia Coleman has created this page about the command line switches for the new powerpoint viewer

Have you ever tried "linking" them together.....You can change the running order as easily as moving slides in a slide
sorter then. (also you don't get the black screen between presentations (or the long pause while the next presentation
opens))

Can you post here the command line syntax that you are trying to make work?
You say that it fails, but you don't mention a message. What message are
you receiving?

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]
[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -

Hello,

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to
make this easier to do in PowerPoint Viewer, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
