play cd rom

Hi
Could you please tell me how i can get my sons pirates cd rom to play when i
put the cd in the cd rom drive nothing happens. I use window media player
the cd rom used to work on my old computer.
Please advise

What is this "pirates cd rom" you speak of?

Game?
It sounds like (when you mention Media Player) it is some sort of VCD?

Or is it a DVD and you are putting it in a CD drive and trying to get it to
read it?
