Play animations in web pages

E

Erich

After I upgraded to ie6 the users complain that the
animations no longer play in the web pages. This is a new
option in ie6 but I can't find the GP to enable this
feature. The Advanced tab in Tools, Internet Options is
disabled in a GP.

Hello Erich,

I was unable to find any previous cases recording this specific issue after
installing IE6.

I know that you can use the IEAk (Internet Explorer Administration Kit) to
disable/enable this particular setting but using the IEAK for this would be
overkill.
Instead you may have better luck modifying the following registry key via a
log on script.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
Play_Animations = Yes or No

This key will toggle the "Play Animations in Web Pages" setting in the
Advanced properties of IE.

Also....If your users are using remote desktop the play Animations feature
is automatically disabled in Windows XP after SP1.
