I didn't go to the Plaxo site but a search on google shows that it is a
source for toolbars. Personally, I like to limit the toolbars added to my
browser (I have none) as they can be a source of browser problems.

They may start out working great but then IE gets updated and that breaks
something in the third party add-on. If the add-on is supported well, it
will get updated eventually. If not supported well, it will be broken and
possibly abandoned.

Hmm, here's something interesting in the google search results too. May
want to read this:

As for the error, it looks like you have a POP3 email account
misconfigured. I've never seen a pop3 server preceded by "http." Visit the
site providing the mail service and review their directions for configuring
mail. You'll find something similar to "mail.isp.com" or "pop3.isp.com"
(I've fabricated those examples to show the lack of http in their names).
Correct your settings in your mail application accordingly and the error
should clear up.

Pease don't SHOUT. It hurts my eyes, and I'm not the only one. When
you SHOUT you reduce the number of people who are willing to read
what you wrote.

sorry. my vision is very poor.

I have all the correct settings and it still won't allow me to plaxo.com. Now
what?

Hello,

For your 2nd problem, you have incorrect settings for your mail settings.

Start Outlook Express. Tools > Accounts > Mail (tab) > select your account >
Properties > Servers (tab)

You will need to get the information for this page from your mail provider,
typically your Internet Service Provider.

I am unsure why you chose to tack your seperate question onto this posting -
unless you are "Sam" from the original posting?

In any case - Plaxo is somethign I have been spammed with before. Once from
someone I knew (well - a working aquaintance) and several other times from
people who might be unknown to me but in businesses I may have done business
with in some fashion. Not once did I choose to participate with Plaxo.

What is Plaxo (from the source):
http://support.plaxo.com/bin/answer.py?answer=238

Some random review on it:
http://www.pimpyourwork.com/should-i-manage-my-contacts-with-plaxo/

Some random online help group for Plaxo:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/plaxo/

I would still recommend against it - but that's an individual's call. If
you think it is right for you - go for it.

As far as trouble installing it - better to go to the source - Plaxo - for
Technical Support with their product.. After all - if you are not going to
get help installing it when you go to them and ask (before you have even
really started using the product) - then do you really expect them to help
you once they have you hooked?
