INTEL PENTIUM 4 Processor 630 LGA775 3.0Ghz 64bit 2MB L2-Cache 800FSB
*** ALBATRON PX915SLI Intel 915PL/ICH6 Chipset 2 x PCI Express 16x
DDR400 Dual Channel USB LAN SOUND *** ALBATRON Nvidia 6600GT 128meg DDR
Memory DVI and HDTV Out Model PC6600GT *** 1g of matched ram

We would be happy to stay with the first cpu but i cant seem to find a

OK, ummmmm . . . unless you are thinking of SLI and planning to buy two
video cards right off the bat, this looks very much like a downgrade.

Dual channel RAM won't speed you up significantly. Not nearly as much as
doubling the total amount of RAM will, anyway.

Your CPU will be slightly faster, but you won't notice.

Your video card is a bit of an upgrade, but not terribly significant. Not
if you are just buying one of them.

I'd suggest:

1) Buy a 1 Gig stick of RAM for your current board (don't worry about
matching) for a total of 1.5Gig
Buy a single, better video card for your current mainboard. (X800 maybe?)

or

2) Save up money until you can upgrade to a dual-core processor around 4GHz
(when available?), and then replace the mainboard, ram and video

heyA DAVE,

I forgot to mention the existing mobo is AGP

ive selected the albatron because it was easy too see the mobo/vid
combo. It also says if I want to add a second sli video later that "the
6600gt is the only one to get"

We are effectivly doubling the ram plus quality gain i hope...

We are mainly playing Battlefield2....
