As of 5:00pm est, I have not recieved any further communication from the
manufacturer of this program. I am still unable use the program and cannot
confirm whether or not they have any Vista patches or "workarounds".
Consequently I'm still asking for help from the Community. Thnx to all who
have already responded to me.

Well, they may not have a patch for previous versions but the bottom of the
home page,
http://www.plan3d.com/pages/home.aspx, Windows System Requirements shows
Vista as a compatible operating system. That might only be for the most
current version. All I see is a subscribe button but if you are such a
subscriber, I would assume they could provide you with the information about
getting an upgrade or how to acquire the current version.

Yes Michael, one would assume the company would offer solutions in the form
of upgrades, etc., but they are no longer responding to my requests for help.
This is why I am sending out an SOS to this community. At least here I'm
recieving responses. Thnx.

Are you a subscriber to their site? How do they expect you to acquire their
software if it's not at their website? What does subscribing to their site
get you. This newsgroup can only help if someone else who reads this
newsgroup has the same application and has dealt with the issue.

Because, I'm not a subscriber, I nor anyone else for that matter, do not
know what else is at the website. Have you navigated their site as a
subscriber, can you compare your version number to the version number listed
at the site assuming they have one listed or do they have any download
available?

I downloaded the program directly from their site. I've tried all of the
suggestions listed on the site and then some. My system is totally
compatible with their requirements. I'm searching for someone who has access
to the program and has had a similar problem.

Hello, here is my email correspondence with Plan3d's superior technical support.

My original email:
"To Whom It May Concern, I read then tried all of the recommendations in the troubleshooting section but did not locate a solution. Subsequently, I updated my 3D video card (ATI Mobility Radeon X1400) driver but that, too, was ineffective. I also set my video card to all the recommended settings.
List of all steps taken. . .
Computer Info. . .
I would really appreciate a solution to this issue, as I hope to make use of my software purchase very soon."

This is what I received from their so-called technical support.
"Hello Nicole, It’s frustrating when that happens. MAKE SURE THAT VISTA IS UPDATED: If Windows is not set to update automatically, you can update Windows Free at Microsoft: www.windowsupdate.com."

Yeah, great, thanks a bunch. I guess he missed the part where I stated already trying the recommendations on their site.

Therefore, I wrote back:
“Windows Vista is updated. It is set to update automatically but I also checked just to make sure. Any other suggestions?”
BUT, no response, so I write again:
“To Mike Gariepy or Whom It May Concern,
Unfortunately, I have yet to hear back from you. However annoying I find this whole situation, for your convenience, I have provided all the information regarding this issue below, which I suggest reading in its entirety.
So, in addition to making sure Vista is up to date, I went through every one of Plan3D's troubleshooting suggestions and “frequently asked questions”, not to mention putting another gig of ram into my computer; that gives me 2G of ram, which IS sufficient. However, despite my stated efforts, Plan3D still does NOT WORK. Again, as expressed in my previous emails, I have yet to successfully use Plan3D and I find that unacceptable.
Thank You"

Apparently, Mike in technical support is not a man of many words and clearly thinks that I am an idiot.

Here is his response:
“Hello Nicole,
I’m at a loss as to why your machine is not cooperating. Do you have background programs running that interfere with video card operations? Do you anti-aliasing set on your video card? Are you running special security software that steals time from the computer?
Mike, Plan3D Technical Support Team"

Sorry, a bit lengthy. Nevertheless, does anyone have any other suggestions concerning Plan3d? Their site does state it is compatible with Vista so I'm not quite sure why there is a problem. If, for some reason, they advertise compatibility and it's not then, well, that would be misleading. Not good.

:cry:Hello All, I,m a victim of Plan3d as well. I've done everything and
more to resolve the graphics issues, etc. Mike stopped communicating
with me too!! I think that he is a 1 man show, since everything I have
read, that has been posted by other unhappy customers, his name has come
up. I requested to deal with someone else on their "tech support team"
but never got a reply. I also asked for a refund and was denied. I think
it would be a great little program if it worked! Good luck to you all.

You are replying to a thread that ENDED last December

It is extremely doubtful that anyone there will communicate with you
either.
