Hello, here is my email correspondence with Plan3d's superior technical support.
My original email:
"To Whom It May Concern, I read then tried all of the recommendations in the troubleshooting section but did not locate a solution. Subsequently, I updated my 3D video card (ATI Mobility Radeon X1400) driver but that, too, was ineffective. I also set my video card to all the recommended settings.
List of all steps taken. . .
Computer Info. . .
I would really appreciate a solution to this issue, as I hope to make use of my software purchase very soon."
This is what I received from their so-called technical support.
"Hello Nicole, It’s frustrating when that happens. MAKE SURE THAT VISTA IS UPDATED: If Windows is not set to update automatically, you can update Windows Free at Microsoft:
www.windowsupdate.com."
Yeah, great, thanks a bunch. I guess he missed the part where I stated already trying the recommendations on their site.
Therefore, I wrote back:
“Windows Vista is updated. It is set to update automatically but I also checked just to make sure. Any other suggestions?”
BUT, no response, so I write again:
“To Mike Gariepy or Whom It May Concern,
Unfortunately, I have yet to hear back from you. However annoying I find this whole situation, for your convenience, I have provided all the information regarding this issue below, which I suggest reading in its entirety.
So, in addition to making sure Vista is up to date, I went through every one of Plan3D's troubleshooting suggestions and “frequently asked questions”, not to mention putting another gig of ram into my computer; that gives me 2G of ram, which IS sufficient. However, despite my stated efforts, Plan3D still does NOT WORK. Again, as expressed in my previous emails, I have yet to successfully use Plan3D and I find that unacceptable.
Thank You"
Apparently, Mike in technical support is not a man of many words and clearly thinks that I am an idiot.
Here is his response:
“Hello Nicole,
I’m at a loss as to why your machine is not cooperating. Do you have background programs running that interfere with video card operations? Do you anti-aliasing set on your video card? Are you running special security software that steals time from the computer?
Mike, Plan3D Technical Support Team"
Sorry, a bit lengthy. Nevertheless, does anyone have any other suggestions concerning Plan3d? Their site does state it is compatible with Vista so I'm not quite sure why there is a problem. If, for some reason, they advertise compatibility and it's not then, well, that would be misleading. Not good.
