I am trying to make a CD using various pictures that have been scanned from
family photo albums, copied from digital cameras and some from internet. My
project size is 2.83 MB and is 14 minutes long with no audio. I could not
get this to save using default settings thru movie maker kept getting
different error messages. I saved using the AV/DVI and now the file is 2.8
GB. I was wanting to copy to CD's and the file is now too large to copy. I
need to know what to do now. I do not know what the different file names are
used for. Just trying to make a simple CD.

If you play this new file ( the 2.8 GB one) in either media player or as a
clip from one of your movie maker collections, and you are happy with what it
looks like,
you might be able to us a single layer 4.7 GB DVD-R in place of the CD.
Movie Maker
appears to be somewhat limited compared to other video editing programs
(NLE's or Non-Linear Editors) when it comes to outputting your final projects.

If not, you may have another program , like Nero or Cyberlink DVD Solutions,
that will have an editor or program built in that will allow you to burn
your slide show to a CD in VCD format. It is a lower quality format, but has
a smaller file size that will fit onto a CD. If you have a DVD burner, the
DVD-R blanks are fairly cheap ( like 50 cents apiece) If you do have a
separate burner program, check and see if you can just import your new big
file, and then just burn it to a DVD that will play in any commercial DVD
player. It will be much better quality video, and if you don't add a menu,
it will just play from start to finish in any player like a VHS tape does.

If you just save the 2.8 GB file to a blank DVD-R as a data file, rather
than a playable DVD format, you should be able to take it to a friend's PC
who might have a DVD creator program you can use to create a playable one. I
am not sure, but if a friend has a MAC with 'iMovie' included, it may well do
the trick for you.

Hope that is a help
