Pixma IP4000 Power Lamp Flashing

Does anyone know what 12 flashes of the power lamp means. The manual
lists up to 11 and Canon support just say that it is a service fault.
The fault occurred after the Magenta had clogged and I had attempted to
clear the blockage using the clean and deep clean utilities. They
failed and I order a cleaning cartridge, when I powered up the printer
to install the cleaner, thats when the fault light occurred. The
printed is 8 months old and at the time I was trying Print-Rite
cartridges.......and boy do they clog up.

I AM HAPPY THAT YOU GOT JUST WHAT YOU DESERVED FOR USING CRAP WHERE THE
RELABELER DOES NOT DISCLOSE WHAT YOU ARE GETTING.

YOU ARE AN IDIOT. ALL OF THE AFTERMAREKT CRAP CANNOT BE DIFFERENTIATED

If the LED is blinking alternately green/orange 12 times then the problem is
"AP position error [6A00]", which indicates that the Sheet feed unit or the
main logic board has failed.
I think you have a warranty claim.

Thanks Tony much appreciated,
And for measekite, get down off your high horse. A simple question
doesn't warrant abuse, thats why as you would put it "IDIOTS" like you
give the newsgroups such a bad name.

Does this problem get fixed with a new print head? or must I take it
in for repairs?

I do want to keep this printer and I don't want a new one(yes this
sounds silly but I have my reasons)

If your still under warranty, canon does give you the option to deal
with an authorized repair shop, or sending you a referb unit. A new
head will likely not solve the problem as we are dealing with the guts
of the printer, feeder or the brains. Whether or not the local repair
shop will "fix" it or get you a referb is something I don't know, nor
do I think they would know until such time as they looked at it.

But in all honesty, once you take it to the repair shop, odds are
you'll have NO control whether they fix it or replace it so long as
canon is footing the bill.

It might help to know why for example you want to keep "that" one.
