The purge unit is the device that accepts waste ink from the printhead and puts
it neatly into the waste ink pads, it also cleans the head and when the printer
is not printing it caps the head to prevent it from drying out. It is not
actually part of the printhead but rather the unit that the head keeps
returning to especially when the printer is powered off.
Why do you ask?

I heard that my friend had a problem with the Purge unit..
never heard of it does it block or what??can you fix it??

Natalie
I need more information, like what exactly is the problem your friends printer
is having.
Generally purge units that fail get replaced but it may be something like a
tube that has come off.

No I can't. It is unlikely that the purge unit can cause one portion of the
printhead to not print.
