Pivot Table Sorting Help

I exported payroll data from Quickbooks into Excel and it went in as a
Pivot Table. I have several columns, the first being Soc. Security
Number and it is automatically sorted by this column. I have hidden all
of the columns so that I only have three showing: Employee Name, OT
hours and Department. I am trying to sort the table by Department, but
when I go to sort nothing happens. Does anyone have any help for me?
 
Click on the column name (Department) on the Pivot table.
Go to Data-Sort
You should then receive the sort choice box.
