PIVOT TABLE QUESTION

I've created a pivot table with four columns of data. The
first is an amount based on old rates, the second is an
amount based on new rates, the second and third are
calculating the difference in dollars and percent of the
first two columns in the pivot table, respectively. The
problem is that the last column's formula is the 3rd
column divided by the 1st column. However, the total adds
up the 4th column values. I want that amount to be the
total amount for column 3 divided by the total amoun for
column 1.

Also, I'm trying to add a lookup formula in the pivot
table, but Microsoft states that external references are
not supported in pivot tables. Know any way around that?

Thank you!

When I create a calculated field, Excel uses the same formula in the
total row of the pivot table. So, in your example, the total row should
automatically show the total for the third column divided by the total
for the first column.

You can't do a lookup within a PivotTable, but you could do the lookup
in the data table, then add that field to the PivotTable's row area.
