Pivot table problem

I have Access 2002 and have been trying to create a pivot table. Problem is,
I get to the screen with the fields listed but there are no row/column/data
areas to drag the fields where I want them and if I highlight the field the
Add To button does not highlight unless on the Detail choice. Any ideas?
 
Never mind. I solved the problem by updating the Office Web Components DLL
"OWC10.DLL". I now get the drop fields that were not present before. If you
are having the same problem you need to check that file under Programs/Common
Files/microsoft shared/Web components/10. The create date under properties
should be 1/21/04. You will need to have a reference to the Web components
also. It seems strange that there are so few replies to any of the questions
on Pivot table problems. Perhaps most people are not using them. I had a
user request a report spreadsheet file and since the column headings could
change at any time the pivottable form was the best approach and easier than
programing aliases for the column names. At any rate, my problem was solved.
Now I have to see if the pivot table will display on another users machine
without the dll update. Thanks.
