Pivot Table Crashing

I'm trying to build a pivot table using data that is located in the
spreadsheet. There are only 200 rows. However, when I start to add columns
and rows to the pivot table, it crashes saying that I have too many rows and
columns. However, I am not even close to 65,000 rows when the pivot table is
created. Are there any special characters that can crash the pivot table? Is
there anything else anybody can think of? Thanks!

What exactly is the message?
What version of Excel are you using?

You might well be able to produce a pivot table with too many columns
for a worksheet from a source with 200 rows, if you added 2 column
fields.

Otherwise, what is the source range you used when creating the pivot
table (you could find out by using the pivot table wizard and going
Back to the pane on which you specified the range. Is it bigger than
it needs to be?
