Pivot function

Hello,

I've ordered a new ATI card (9600) to replace my NVidia Ti4200. NVidia's
drivers offer this very useful (for me) pivot function which allows the LCD
screen to be rotated, "pivoted".

I now (a bit late) wonder if ATI's drivers allow the same function to be
performed?

Of course they do, they even have the ease of the nVidia drivers with the
task tray applet. to allow rotation.

Works well, BUT you cannot use overlay with a rotated display thou.

what happens when you try, black empty box?
 
The screen display turns sidewise, then I turn the screen, BTW I have to
reduce the resolution to 1024 x 768 before rotating the screen, then back to
1024 x 1280. Native resolution for my TFT is 1280 x 1024 (17" Phillips).

BTW I use MultiRes to change the resolution.

Well, I can't find this function in the software provided. Where should I
look ?

Well on my PC it's in the display properties, settings, advanced, rotation
tab.

Have you installed the control panel part of Ati's display drivers? ie do
you have about 6 tabs in the advanced set of display properties?

Yes, there are 7 tabs, but none saying "Rotation". Catalyst version is 03.7
and the card is a Radeon 9600 (non pro). Maybe this card will not accept
this option? I'll have a look at ATI's site. Thank you for your help!
