I'm confounded by this problem that occurred recently. I have a summary
report in Access 2003 SP1 that generates a chart in the group footer.
The chart is based on a pivot chart that uses Quantity, Ending Dates, and
Type as input data. as a subform in the Type group footer. In order to
view only the data for the "Type" I'm looking for, I specify the field Type
in the subform Link Child Fields and Link Master Fields properties.
So recently, the chart stopped showing up. However, when I remove the
entries in the Link Child Fields and Link Master Fields I get a chart
appearing. Unfortunately, it is the sum of quantities for all types, and is
repeated for each Type ( as one would expect in the group footer area).
I'm pretty religious about installing updates, so my system is current.
I've tried it on two machines, that both have Windows SP2 installed with the
same result. I can go to another person's machine that doesn't have many
patches installed and it runs quite nicely. However, I'm pretty sure that I
had this problem several weeks prior to installing SP2, so I don't want to
jump to that conclusion.
Anybody have a suggestion on how to get this working again?
