Guys I have just bought a pioneer 110D and I have installed it in my machine (WinXP sp2) I have located it in BIOS and it picks it up as secondary master but when i am running the dvd drive it does not seem to find the media inserted.
I have tried DVD's (copied and originals) and cd's but no can find.
I hear it spinning but just doesnt seem to get there?
Any help guys would be gratefully recieved.
Regards
Gav

Does the drive appear in My Computer, or is it not visible at all?

If it is, but is not recognising the disc, it could point to a faulty drive.

The fact that the BIOS detects it means that it is connected correctly.

yes it's visible but non recoginsed media. Like you said it may be a faultl drive!
Sick to death of advance tech in rochdale they are so poor at customer relations will ring them now.
cheers for your help.

Have to agree, sounds like a faulty drive :(

You could try updating the firmware but I don't think it will help.

Good luck.
