In the XP Start menu (not the Classic Start menu), I know you can "pin" a
shortcut to the upper menu. However, I have some shortcuts in my Program
menu that, for reasons unclear to me, do not include the option "Pin to
Start menu" when you right mouse click on them.

Is there another way to pin these shortcuts to the pinned menu? Through the
registry or other utility?

Thanks.

Jeff,

Are the shortcuts pointing to an executable on a network drive?

Hello,

The reason why you are not getting the pin to start menu option is because
you are not right clicking on the shortcut itself, but you are right
clicking on the folder that it is stored in. So just hover your mouse over
the folder to open the secondary menu and then right click on the shortcut
and click on 'Pin to Start menu'.

Additionally you can try dragging the shortcut the area where you want them.
