Pink and green capture file

Jim

We have been somewhat successful capturing video to a wmv
file format from a Sony DV player using svideo on an ATI
Radeon 8500 video card at the highest setting available
to us, 2.1 mpbs. Sometimes the result is a pink and green
movie. This only seems to happen when capturing 30+
minutes of video. Of course, this is very frustrating as
it takes about 45 minutes for the capture/ encoding
process. We are using the wmv format so the files can be
burned to cd.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can get a
consistent output? Thanks!

You're better off capturing in DV-AVI format, then converting to WMV as a
second step. You can use either Movie Maker or Windows Media Encoder to do
the WMV encoding.

Hi there,

This sounds as though one of the colours is not being fed through properly
to the capture device. I would check the cables. Also, its a pity you do
not have a firewire card and cable.....the resulting DV-AVI would be of
much better quality.
