Hii Colin,
From where I sit, you seem to be the hands-down expert on all things
involving OEM and Retail versions of Vista.
Can you post a brief - but definitive - summary of the issues
surrounding upgrades and clean installs using both OEM and retail
Vista discs so that everyone is on the same page when questions arise?
There have been recent cases where even some of the MVPs don't have
the correct information.
I think you've said that the discs are the same, and that it's the
product key that makes things work.
There are also issues when moving from one version to a higher version
when it comes to being able to actually upgrade, or having to do a
clean install.
The point about the original version being locked to an upgrade and
that it can't be used again (per the EULA) should also be addressed.
PLEASE?
