1. Disable XP's firewall. It is only intended for direct connections to the
Internet. If you installed any third party firewall, make sure it is
properly configured for the network. If that doesn't work, completely
uninstall all firewalls while troubleshooting.
2. Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on all computers. Details here.
