[ping] Susan - CuteFTP Link dead

Hi Susan, I was looking for CuteFTP (vs. 2.8) at ACF
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_INTERNET.php

And found the link for it to be dead.

I was able to locate this from a Taiwanese site:
http://w3.lsps.tp.edu.tw/help/cuteftp28/cuteftp_install/cuteftp_install01.htm

The actual link for it under a bunch of "?????'s" after the words
"CuteFTP V2.8" in the page (I don't have Chinese fonts installed
on this PC), this DL link is:
http://w3.lsps.tp.edu.tw/help/cuteftp28/cuteftp28.exe

Hopefully this isn't the final and only remaining link for this
program on the planet. Perhaps someone will pick up on this and host
it elsewhere.

oldversion.com's link for it is also dead.

trying to run the downloaded version was not possible.
The cuteftp size on your server is 1.24 MB and the downloaded size is 1.936
kB
Trying to run your download gives the warning : This isn't a valid win32
application.

I found in my archive Cuteftp v4232.exe size 1.695 kB.
Something for your archive?

Then there's something wrong with your download mechanism. Yes this
file recorded itself as coming through as larger than given, but once
downloaded it was the size it is meant to be (well mine happened to be
1.23 MB) - The file I DL'd from Steve's site installed fine on my pc
(Win2k)

Version 2.8 is the last freeware version of CuteFTP.

There must a first time for all ;-).
Indeed, there seems something wrong with my download mechanism and
mysteryfcm *.exe files.
But I don't know what at the moment; my download managers didn't get a size
and that could be a reason to screw up the downloaded file.
Downloading other programs from mysteryfcm ( like .zip or .rar ) isn't a
problem.

Dang! That said, I then actually tried running CuteFTP! It comes up
with a dialog saying it is SHAREWARE and will run for 30 days before
expiring. WTF! I was under the impression 2.8 was freeware?
 
Anyway, even if you couldnt get this ftp client...you could find
another one...lol 8)
