I see in
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2005/PL2005DESKTOP.php#0110-n
that CLCL is under DESKTOP: Clipboard: Screen Capture
Isn't it rather a Clipboard Extender?

I saw it because I was checking if Clipomatic was already included among the
nominable programs. ISTM it's not. I've added a description for it.

Well, CLCL does make screenshots, too. I am making them accidentally all
the time (maybe I am typing too clumsily, the "print" key is close above
the insert key)

So the answer is: yes, it is a screen capture *and* clipboard extending
tool.

Thank you, Gabriele.
I don't use CLCL but I saw that its author describes it this way:
"CLCL is clipboard caching utility"
then I thought it was under a wrong category.

So it does...

I'd never noticed before; I so wish it had a help file of some sort.

It sounds as if some revisions are needed. I'll post in the DESKTOP
discussion thread.

It's not a screen capture program!

You can't mark a part of the screen with CLCL and capture it, unlike
screen capture utilities. It's a clipboard extender for text and
pictures, which answers the question of the OP. In this case
PrintScreen makes essentially a picture of the whole screen and places
it into the clipboard.

If you want to pick nits, yes. But it being a clipboard extender, I
don't expect more from it. If there is no special screenshot program
available, but something to edit pictures, you can still crop the result
after pasting it eg into the MS Paint program.

Of course it can't hide the cursor, as eg Irfan View does, or allow for
arbitrarily drawn frames to be captured, but if CLC would do
*everything*, what else could other programmers then create?
