Hi Safetymom, I don't have any probs with Epson period, having used them for
years mainly for photography.
My question was because my trusty 895 started getting blocked jets, so I
went out and bought a 915, both printers look the same to me apart from the
case, so I wondered if that was the main difference. Having installed the
915, I set about cleaning the 895 with " Windowlene " so now I have 2
excellent printers, the " Windowlene " works like a dream. So no, I don't
have any probs with Epson. One thing I must say, is that I find using Epson
genuine inks and papers may be a little more expensive, but the end product
is far better than using cheapo stuff
I have nothing to do with Epson, I am well past 70 and retired, but credit
were it's due, Epson will do for me..

Hi Tony, thank you for your email, I have looked at inkylink and notice that
they sell Jet-tec carts, it is some years since I tried them and at the time
I was not impressed, but as all things they may have improved now. I did try
the new refill shop at Stanmore, but sadly went back to genuine Epson carts.
Incase you are interested, you can buy Jet Tec carts from Harestock Garage,
and South Wonston post office.

No thanks as I sell lots of them. Must come down to price I guess (now 9%
loyalty discount) and the support of people who know printers. For your
interest I produced a whole load of Photo work and had it vetted by several
leading Photo labs. The colour gamut was marginally different to Epson and
some tweaking for an 895 was involved. Advanced and vivid for example.
The one quite interesting point was that the Canon S-820 tested at the same
time didn't compete with the Epson results.

In the world of printers these days you won't see a drastic difference
between printers from model year to model year. Yes there are improvements
but not like in the old days of inkjets. Epson does tend to use the same
cases for a generation or two. Glad you are enjoying them. I love mine.

Tony, I have just done a comparison test between the 895 and the 915 (
photos ) and found the 915 to be slightly better using the same inks and
paper. What paper do you use, I am using Epson Premium Glossy, S041624.I
note that you sell lots of Jet Tec, do you have a shop.

Well yes sortuv Webby shops as in www.inkylink.co.uk and www.aah-haa.com
and in the wings www.aberdabadoo.co.uk
I've used the Epson papers but (biased of course) used entirely JetTec Matt
and Satin plus Glossy for the tests...
The newer ranges from JetTec - due out soon - are matched for Photo printers
so that you don't have to bother with setup routines.
regards Tony
