Recently installed an XP machine on our W2k AD Domain.
From the domain controller, I can ping the new machine
just fine. I can access the Internet. I can't ping
other hosts and other hosts can't ping it. I do get name
resolution, etc through my local DNS. I get a "Request
Timed Out", so I am at a loss.

Hello

On the pc which OS did oyu install XP Home or XP Pro
because that does make a difference. If you using XP Home
willnot work but if you have Pro have try the steps below

If you are running XP pro you will be able to join the domain. Follow
these steps.
1) Right Click on "My Computer"
2) Click on the Properties
3) Click on the "Network Identification" Tab
4) Click on the Properties
and fill in the Computer Name and the Domain name. The wizard will ask
for
the Domain administrator's credentials

XP Pro is the OS. I did have it in the domain, but just
for fun, I removed it from the domain, rebooted, and
added it back to the domain.

I can ping more hosts, but still can't ping my
workstation (XP) from it. I am thinking now that it may
be a networking device between here and there.

Thanks for the help.
