Same problem with LAN connection.
w2k sp4 ie 5.5 sp2 and all sec patches.
no virus. checked with 3 diffremt scanners.

hope to get help, too.

I use Win2K. After dialing up and reaching my
home page sucessfully, I seem to lose connectivity
there after for unknown reason i.e. when surfing to
another page, I get "page cannot be displayed" error.
Only after reboot will I be able to get back onto
homepage. I have tested ping ability.
I am able to ping loop back address (127.0.0.1) and
initially also a known web address (e.g.
www.microsoft.com) sucessfully. However, after about,
say 2 minutes, I tried to ping the known web address
AGAIN and then get the dreaded timed out response.
Why does the status change? It affects my ability to
connect to the next web page. How can I fix the problem?

Call your ISP and they will walk you thru remove and reinstall you
connection.That's what it sounds like to me. You also could have a glitch in
I.E.(assuming), but I don't think so. If so, reinstall it. May require
twice, if it is the browser.
