Hallo,

Can anyone help me with the following problem I'm
experiencing.

I am using Windows 2000 server sp4 and whenever I try to
ping another computer I get the following message "Bad
option specified".

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Owen.

Exactly what are you typing when you try to ping? Sounds like you have a
problem with something you are putting after the word 'ping' in your
command.

Hallo John,

Thanks for your reaction... It doesn't matter what I put
behind the word ping, it gives the same response everytime.

Ping www.yahoo.com for example doesn't work. But when I
try the same address on another computer I get a response.

Attemps to ping all ip address from this computer produces
the response : "Bad option specified". even though I did
not specify a ping option.
Do you think I might have a corrupted dns???

Thnaks,

Owen

Are you sure that the ping command you're executing is the one which
came with your version of Windows? When you type "ping" without any
other options, what do you get? Not sure what else it could be.
