Peter

I would like to know if its possible to do the following.

1. Ping a server and send a message to the administrators
if no reply.

2. Also send a message if there is a disk failure. I am
currently using psloglist with the -d 1-f w option. This
displays all warnings including printer/connection errors.
However all I want to see is disk problems.

I know you can buy products which can do the above and
much more. But I just want something simple our trainee's
can do when they start/finish work.

Thanks

Peter

You can parse the ping in a FOR command and send a message with net send or
blat.

Same for the psloglist.
